T-Rex summarized our experiences in Oregon well, but I still wanted to provide some photos and details from Mt. Hood to the Washington border.

Fire closures and smoke left us little choice but to decide to halt our journey to Canada. It was not an easy decision, but we had to consider safety as well as simple enjoyment with all the smoke that had been present the last few weeks. All that said, we were not ready to head home yet, so after considering options, we realized we had the perfect window for another trail we have been planning to thru-hike…the Colorado Trail.

Stay tuned for additional PCT related posts, but details on our trip to Colorado and segment updates coming soon!
